Within two years, the Linux ecosystem is projected to reach $50 billion, spanning the enterprise computing, desktop/netbooks and embedded markets. Those companies -- and individuals -- connected to the heart of the Linux market will be best positioned for success.
The Linux Foundation's events serve two important purposes: providing a neutral collaborative environment that advances the state of the art of the Linux platform and providing network and education opportunities in the technical, business and legal arenas so companies and individuals can get the most of their investment in Linux.
As an organization we have one simple goal: to fuel the growth of the Linux platform. Our events are designed to serve our members and the greater needs of the Linux community by providing the best technical and business content and forums. Linux Foundation events:
- Allow individuals to network and learn from the leaders of the technical development community
- Bring together leading Linux end users to collaborate with the community and industry to optimize Linux for their needs
- Bring industry and community together with end users for collaboration
- Enable legal collaboration within the Linux industry and community
- Provide training and education for all parties in the Linux ecosystem so they can get the most out of the platform -- and the most out of their careers

||The first ten years of OSCON were about opening the minds of big business to the philosophy of open source. The next ten are about opening the minds of the open source community to the practical possibilities of its future. As OSCON "goes to eleven" in 2009, how can we turn up the volume on efficiency, knowledge transfer, and working smarter within constraints to achieve more with what we already have - or even with less?
